Winter Pest Control Campaign – Phase 2
Today we’ll be removing the non-toxic lure from the bait station network (if there’s any left) and replacing it with the Double Tap bait.
This is a big job, and an important one. Bring clothing and footwear suitable for walking off track, and a backpack containing water and any personal medication you might need. The bait is contained in paper bags but we will have disposable gloves if you need them. High viz vests available and we encourage you to wear one.
Cholecalciferol and diphacinone (the active ingredients) are an effective tool, targeting both rodents and possums, and are low residue in the environment. The timing of this baiting operation is designed to suppress the rats and possums ahead of the bird breeding season, which gets underway for some species in late August.
Join us back at the kohanga for a refreshing cuppa and home baked treat after you’ve completed your bait line.
