Winter Pest Control Campaign – Phase 1 This is the start of our coordinated Double Tap toxin operation which takes place over 3 Saturdays. It’s a big job and your help is greatly appreciated. Today you’ll head out into the forest to place tasty, non-toxic lure in a line of bait stations.
Double Tap is an effective tool, targeting both rodents and possums, and is low residue in the environment. You can read more about it here. The timing of this baiting operation is designed to suppress building predator numbers ahead of the bird breeding season that starts in August.
You’ll be provided with a map and instructions. New volunteers will be paired with an experienced person. Clothing and footwear should be suitable for walking off track, plus bring a backpack with any meds that you require and a full bottle of water. There will be a refreshing cuppa and delish baking to replenish your energy levels when you’re done!
